As the world
celebrates the 250th
anniversary of one of
the most recognized
composers, Leavenworth
Washington’s renowned
European Restaurant,
Café Mozart joins
festivities as it
celebrates 10 years of
elegant dining.
Combining these
special events, Café
Mozart will offer many
menu specials
throughout the year.
To launch the year
long celebration,
proprietors Richard
and Christina
Zucktriegel plan to
host a gala - an
extraordinary evening,
by invitation only for
frequent patrons and
close friends.
Specialty items
planned for this
memorable evening
include sparkling
sweet Italian dessert
wine with chocolate
strawberries, Tawny
Port with caramel
sauce dessert and Ruby
Port with chocolate
nut sampler.
Many new items will
be introduced during
this exciting
anniversary year for
Café Mozart as Chef
Richard anticipates
adding Lobster
Linguine, Duck Breast,
Lamb Chops and others,
creating new menu to
enhance celebration.
Café Mozart lies in
the heart of
Leavenworth, the
“Bavarian Village” of
Washington. Upon
entering the
restaurant and strains
of Mozart’s familiar
melodies fill your
ears, you feel
immediately
transported to an
upscale restaurant in
Mozart’s birthplace,
Salzburg, Austria. You
are greeted “Guten
Tag” or “Guten Abend”
( good day, good
evening) by owner
Christina Zucktriegel
or friendly staff
member; yes, staff is
expected to learn
helpful German words
of courtesy as
Christina and Richard
speak German fluently.
As you take in the
ambiance of Café
Mozart, the
magnificent richness
of warm colors, fabric
and elegant atmosphere
are obvious. One tends
to feel like royalty.
If necessary to wait
for your table, you
can easily relax by
cozy fireplace and sip
a glass of finest
sherry. Owner Richard
Zucktriegel offers an
amazingly extensive
wine attic which can
house over 1600
bottles which provide
perfect compliment to
menu items which
delight your palate.
Choices of enticing
appetizers, imported
and domestic wines and
the unique decadently
delicious desserts add
to making your
excellently prepared
entrée a meal to
savor. The décor,
music, fireplace,
intimate tables,
guarantee an evening
in Viennese atmosphere
to remain memorable
for a long time. On a
recent visit to Café
Mozart, we met a
couple visiting from
Vancouver B.C.
celebrating 15th
anniversary. A couple
from Tri Cities, Evan
and Brook were
enjoying a romantic
interlude. Evan said,
“ I decided to take
definitely needed time
away from work. I
enjoyed the
Chateaubriand and
talked Brook into
trying Escargot.
Another guest, Ruth
McIntyre told me, “
This in one of my most
favorite eateries in
the world.” Kirkland
visitors, Kim and
Richard said they
loved the
Schwabenteller and
Wienerschnitzel.
As you dine in
utmost elegance you
are treated to the
lovely harp music by
Miriam Kelley whose
recently released
romantic CD “Just For
You” is in perfect
timing for Valentine’s
Day. Your dining
experience will surely
be enhanced with
background music by
Miriam’s delicate
touch.
As part of Café
Mozart’s 10th
anniversary
celebration, their new
website is available
for your viewing.
Please enjoy the site
as we all sing “Happy
Birthday” to Amadeus
Mozart and enjoy a
lovely restaurant.
